General Information of This Antigen
Antigen ID
TAR0IUXCP
Antigen Name
Ganglioside GD3
Function
Ganglioside GD3 is a type of lipid molecule, or glycosphingolipid, found on cell surfaces that contains two sialic acid residues. It plays a role in normal development, particularly in the nervous system, but its expression is also known to increase significantly in pathological conditions like various cancers (e.g., gliomas, melanomas, breast cancer) and neurodegenerative disorders. Due to its involvement in cell proliferation, migration, and invasion in cancer, GD3 is being studied as a potential therapeutic target.
